Honoring Your Journey to Motherhood: Residential Treatment in New York for Pregnancy and Addiction Recovery

As part of our Su Casa Residential Redesign Treatment Program, we offer a Pregnant Women and Infants Program that embraces every woman with respect, dignity, and unwavering support. We understand that everyone's journey is unique, especially when navigating pregnancy and addiction recovery.

For women facing substance use disorder in pregnancy, we offer a compassionate sanctuary where your well-being takes center stage. If you're expecting a baby, or have an infant under 9 months old, and have a history of substance use disorder, our New York City-based Residential Redesign Treatment Program is here to support you and your child. Specifically, our Pregnant Women and Infants Residential Treatment Program creates a community that combines personalized pregnancy and addiction recovery services with essential prenatal, post-natal, and child care, ensuring a healthy start for you and your baby.

LESC Pregnant Women and Infants Program: A Path to Recovery During Pregnancy

We understand your journey may come from difficult circumstances, complicated situations, and limited access to healthcare. We offer a holistic community where staff and mothers work together to create a nurturing, recovery-focused environment. You won't have to worry about shelter, food, prenatal, post-natal, medical and child care, or job training. Instead, you can focus solely on your baby's health and your recovery journey within a safe and supportive community environment.

What to Expect from Our Pregnant Women and Infants Residential Treatment Program in NYC

Our journey together begins with a connection to our on-site medical staff, followed by crucial prenatal appointments within the community, working collaboratively with Gouverneur Hospital and Bellevue Hospital.

Our program goes beyond substance use disorder treatment in pregnancy by also providing you with:

  • Strollers
  • Infant clothing
  • Planned events
  • Group outings

Upon delivering your baby, our addiction treatment for expectant and new mothers continues, guiding you in creating a brighter future for you and your newborn. You’ll receive comprehensive postnatal and postpartum care through a community hospital, as well as any other needed services. Parenting classes are included as part of your journey with us. You can stay at LESC Su Casa in NYC for up to 12 months after your baby's birth, ensuring a smooth transition to the next chapter of your life.

FAQs

Mothers can remain at the same hospital for services . It is on an individual bases. Mothers that are coming from out of state or Upstate will find if difficult to travel for appointments. In this case mothers would find is suitable to have services closer to the program.

The baby bonding is one month upon the infant placement with the mother. This gives the mother and child time to learn about feeding schedules , sleeping patterns etc.

Childcare workers are available to assist with the care of infants until the mother completes the group. The mother, however, can bring their child with her, if she chooses.

Yes, space and supervision permitting, visitations with your child(ren) are allowed.

There are no overnight passes for mothers with infant.

Mother and infant can remain in the program up to 1 year (12 months).

No, mothers and new babies will not have to share a room with others.

Each mother applies for the WIC service program. Our program provides Pampers and assists with formula until the mother obtains WIC services or runs short of milk.

Yes. Your primary assigned counselor will assist with court and legal cases.

Yes. With consent of the mother , the primary counselor will assist with providing services about the program to all legal agency’s involved and progress of the mother.

Yes, provided that a schedule is agreed upon with all legal agencies involved.

Each case is unique and employment is encouraged . Mothers will need to meet with their primary counselor , onsite vocational and team to develop the best plan for mothers with infants in the treatment program.

Each mother can apply for housing after 90 days of treatment via housing application. Depending on the qualification and category of housing codes each individual will be assisted with housing resources.

Admission Criteria

To be eligible, you are currently pregnant or have recently given birth, and are using substances or have a history of substance use disorder and are in need of medication.
