Building Resilience Through a Continuing Day Treatment Program For Those Who Only Speak Chinese Dialects

As a staple in New York City for decades, LESC understands that the Chinese community has been facing health disparity and trauma for years. We are proud to say that since 1982, the Chinese population within the community we serve has found solace in this exceptional program.

Our Continuing Day Treatment Program is designed to aid you and your loved ones in dealing with the following:

• Severe depression
• Schizophrenia
• Bipolar disorder

The LESC Continuing Day Treatment Program, officially licensed by the New York State Office of Mental Health, is a beacon of hope for a close-knit group of 18 Chinese clients. This program offers a lifeline and a path towards renewed goals, essential life skills, unwavering support, and socialization.

This program values the Chinese culture in a respectful and dignifying way by celebrating Chinese holidays and honoring customs. Our clients can enjoy various fulfilling entertainment and recreational events, trips to the museum, Circle Line tours, visits to city parks, and more.

What to Expect From Our Continuing Day Treatment Program

As a client of LESC, you'll participate in 4-hour treatment sessions five days a week. We provide Individual, group, and family counseling that can help you deal with the stress of daily living through:

• Crisis management
• Healthcare
• Relaxation techniques
• Psychoeducation
• Medication management

With help from our on-site psychiatrist, you may eventually return to the workforce. Regular psychiatric assessments and evaluations can help you manage chemical therapy. Group sessions can improve support from your family by educating family members on the psychodynamics of living with a family member's evolving mental health needs.

Our goal for the Continuing Day Treatment Program is to improve self-esteem, social connectedness, and self-sufficiency in a way that makes you and your loved one more resilient.
